New Fireplace (Buying New)

New construction “zero clearance” fireplaces are built into standard framing and vent to the outside.

  • Traditional wood burning fireplaces with an open front (brick or otherwise) do not meet clean air or efficiency requirements in most parts of California. However, EPA phase 2 wood burning fireplaces are approved for installation in our area.
  • Gas fireplaces now have a sealed glass front to meet California Energy Efficiency standards.
  • It is recommended to verify your selection by visiting a showroom prior to installation.

Fireplace Remodel (Fixing Old)

Your remodeling plans depend on what you want to accomplish and your budget. Do you want to remodel the fireplace appearance, change the fireplace function, or both?

Change the fireplace appearance options:

  • Add a mantel or mantel shelf
  • Change the wall finish by removing or covering brick, etc.
  • Add a fireplace door or permanent screen

Change the fireplace function options:

  • Make your wood fireplace into an efficient heater by adding a gas, wood or pellet insert.
  • Replace your traditional, inefficient fireplace with a more efficient model or new style such as linear in shape unit with crushed glass instead of logs.
  • Add a decorative gas log or crushed glass burner set-up.
